[origin: WO2009147349A1] The invention relates to an implantable medical device. This implantable medical device (10) to be implanted at an implantation site comprises a proximal end (P), a central part (C) and a distal end (D), and at its proximal (P) or distal (D) end, or central part (C), at least one means (20) for positioning the implantable device (10) at the precise site of a branching (E) of a blood vessel (V), such as a coronary artery. The positioning means (20) comprises a closed mesh (22) defining a passage (23) for a guide or thread guide (60) for introducing into a secondary branch (V2). The invention permits precise, exact and almost perfect positioning of the implantable medical device (10), such as a stent (11), at the branching (E) of the blood vessel (V) that is to be treated, so as to treat the ostial lesions or stenoses that have been very difficult to treat hitherto.
