[origin: WO2009146946A1] The invention relates to a bicycle for locomotion in mountainous terrain, the bicycle having a supporting element (4) for a knee and/or shin bone, the supporting element also being formed in a carrying position as a backpack element. The design of the bicycle permits rapid transfer from the travelling position into the transport position and vice versa, wherein the vehicle permits safe downhill travel and, in the transport position, because of the low weight and the small dimensions, can easily be carried by a person (mountaineer) in the manner of a rucksack.
