[origin: WO2009132905A1] A pack for smoking articles such as cigarettes comprises front and rear panels 2, 3 connected by opposite side panels 4, 5 a bottom panel 6 and a lid 7, wherein at least one of the panels includes a plurality of transverse rigidifying bands 18 greater in thickness than a region 19 between the bands. The bands 18 may be formed by an embossing method.
