[origin: WO2009130222A1] The invention relates to a road surface having grooves embossed in the surface of the road surface. The grooves comprise a first group of grooves that run approximately parallel to each other and at least one second group of grooves that run approximately parallel to each other and cross the first group of grooves such that two neighboring grooves of the first and second groups define an approximately parallelogram-shaped plateau. Within the first group of grooves and within the second group of grooves, different groove distances are provided such that the tire-road surface noise is reduced when driving over the road surface. The road surface can particularly be designed as road surface element that can be industrially pre-manufactured. The invention further relates to methods for producing the road surface element.
