[origin: WO2009150674A1] An apparatus (1) for cleaning the barrel (10) of guns, such as cannons, mortars, machine-guns, comprises a generator of ultrasonic pulses (40) operatively connected by a cable (45) to at least one transmitter (5) constrained to a support rod (4). In operative conditions, the support rod (4) is put into the chamber (13) of the barrel (10) with a measured amount of a cleaning fluid (20). The latter comprises at least one surfactant, in particular an anionic surfactant, mixed with water in a determined ratio. The apparatus (1) cleans the barrel (10) of guns in an effective way in particular removing both metal residues and carbonaceous residues of the propelling charge.
