[origin: EP2301407A2] The dishwasher (1) has a program control device (19) for controlling a wash cycle of a selected dishwashing program for cleaning dishes. The control device activates a wash program for providing supply of hot water (WW) from an external hot water supply (WA) during partial wash cycle of a wash cycle is activated, in one operating mode. The control device activates another wash program for providing supply of cold water (KW) from an external cold water supply (KA) only during another partial wash cycle of the wash cycle, in another operating mode. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a wash cycle of a dishwasher.
