[origin: WO2010000971A1] The subject of the invention is a device for protecting an opening leaf (1) of a vehicle, the opening leaf being hinged with respect to a wall (2) of the vehicle at at least one hinge (3). This device is characterized in that it comprises at least one shoe (7) secured to the opening leaf (1) at a rim thereof near where the hinge or hinges (3) are located. The shoe (7) fits under a bearing surface (10) secured to the wall (2) when the opening leaf is in the closed position, collaboration between the shoe (7) and its bearing surface (10) being such that the opening leaf cannot move away from the wall even if the hinge or hinges (3) is/are destroyed.
