Abstract (en)

The method involves measuring angle-related information and distance-related information. Non-circularity of a roller, a role or a reel (10) i.e. reel strike, is compensated by the angle-related information and the distance-related information. A band (13) is wound up on the reel, and is guided by the roller or the role for a cold rolling mill. A drive is regulated using the angle-related information and the distance-related information to compensate for disturbances. An adjustable base torque (M0) is predetermined for a trouble-free operation of the reel, the roller or the role. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a drive in a cold rolling mill.
