Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010015493A1] A composition comprising, 1-99%wt of surfactant and at least one micro-particle having a diameter of 100nm-2mm, said micro-particle comprising: i) a core comprising a hydrophobic benefit agent (preferably a perfume or a dye), and, ii) a shell comprising an uncharged hydrophobically-modified, water-soluble film-forming polymer (preferably a modified PVOH), whereby the film remains substantially intact in the presence of surfactant but dissolves when the concentration of surfactant is reduced, thereby releasing the benefit agent. The invention provides a process for treatment of surfaces comprising the step of contacting a composition according to the invention with fabric, hair, or living tissue. The invention also provides a method for preparing compositions according to claims 1-13 which comprises the steps of: a) providing an aqueous solution of uncharged, hydrophobically-modified, film forming polymer having a hydrophobic benefit agent dispersed therein, b) forming a layer of the uncharged, hydrophobically-modified, film forming polymer around the dispersed hydrophobic benefit agent, and c) stabilizing said layer with surfactant.
