[origin: EP2308588A2] The device (10) has a stand arm, a holder (12) for a liquid container, a flexible intermediate element (13) arranged between the stand arm and the holder for the liquid container, a shaking unit and a coupling unit (15) arranged at the holder. A detachable connection between the shaking unit and the holder is formed using the coupling unit. The flexible intermediate element is formed of an elastic or damping material. An independent claim is also included for a method for mixing a liquid sample.
