[origin: WO2010003265A1] The invention relates to a working element (10, 11, 12) on a fibre-processing machine having at least one roller (3, 13), wherein the working element (10, 11, 12) is arranged at a distance (a) opposite the roller (3, 13). The working element extends over the entire working width of the roller (3, 13), wherein part of the working element (10, 11, 12) is formed as an extraction channel (25). The working element (10, 11, 12) has at least one scraping blade (20) and a further carding element (21) or covering element (29). An opening (26) having an ejection width (c) is located between the scraping blade (20) and the carding element (21) or covering element (29). The opening (26) connects a space between the working element (10, 11, 12) and roller (3, 13) to the extraction channel (25). The working element (10, 11, 12) has a receptacle in which a closure element (27) is held in a fixed position with the aid of a clamping force, wherein the ejection width (c) is provided by the shape of the closure element (27).
