[origin: WO2011000641A1] The invention relates to a method and a related hearing device (1) for setting feedback suppression. The method comprises the following steps: determining (100) feedback events (RE), determining (101) the frequency (H1) of the feedback events within a predeterminable first time period (T1), and setting (102) the feedback suppression according to the frequency (H1) of the feedback events (RE). It is advantageous that the hearing device can automatically select between different feedback algorithms depending on the feedback situation. Thus, optimum sound and feedback quality can be achieved.
