Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2312256A2] The device (2) has a container (8) for accommodating a missile (10), and a mounting part (6) for attaching the container outside an airborne platform. A releasing unit (24) releases the missile from the container. An opening of the container is closed by a flap (16) of the releasing unit in a downward direction, such that the missile leaves the container in the downward direction when the releasing unit is opened. The releasing unit makes an outlet of the missile to be perpendicular to an axial direction (20) of the missile, where the releasing unit has a closing device. An independent claim is also included for a method for starting a missile from a flying platform.
