Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2460674A] The masonry bracket 2, particularly for use in masonry walls 10 with bond beams or the like, comprises an elongate inter-course shear transfer element 4 which includes a rebar cradling feature 6. The shear transfer element preferably comprises a plate designed to be located within at least one perpend 22 of a masonry wall. The bracket may include a stabilising foot 28 that protrudes perpendicularly from the length of the shear transfer element for locating in a bed joint 24 of the wall. The bracket is preferably formed from a single sheet of a metal or metallic or non-metallic composite. The rebar cradling feature is preferably formed from one or more slots formed in the long edge of the shear transfer element and may include retaining lips. Also claimed are a masonry system and a method of forming a masonry wall structure.
