Abstract (en)
The present invention relates to a method for performing a rinse cycle during a washing process in a washing machine. The rinse cycle comprises the steps of loading water into a washing tub containing laundry, moving the laundry within the washing tub, recirculating the water in a recirculation circuit, and irradiating the water with ultraviolet light within the recirculating circuit and outside the washing tub. Further, the present invention relates to a corresponding washing machine.
