[origin: EP1998166A1] An object of the present invention is to appropriately and easily evaluate a photosynthetic function of a photosynthetic sample contained in an evaluation sample. An evaluation method for photosynthetic sample according to the present invention is for evaluating a state of a photosynthetic sample with a photosynthetic function based on temporal data of a luminescence amount of delayed luminescence emitted from the photosynthetic sample. First, characteristic values that indicate characteristics are determined for a plurality of time periods in the temporal data. An evaluation value is then computed by weighting the characteristic values. The state of the photosynthetic sample is then evaluated based on the evaluation value.
