Abstract (en)

[origin: CA2728009A1] The present invention relates to a sandal, in particular in the form of so-called flip-flops, with a shoe sole (2) and a big-toe holder (7) for receiving the big toe separately from the other toes.  The invention relates in particular to flip-flops with orthopaedic means for correcting and/or preventing hallux valgus.  According to the invention, the flip-flop has a metatarsal bandage (17) for supporting the metatarsus, at which the shoe sole is articulated in a predetermined alignment by means of a centring device (3), wherein the said metatarsal bandage has lateral foot sole supporting portions (18, 19), which extend laterally under the sole of the foot and/or over the shoe sole and can be lifted off the shoe sole in order to support the metatarsus from the sole of the foot with upwardly directed, lateral compressive forces, to right the metatarsus or support it in the righted position, including when the sole of the foot lifts off the shoe sole during rolling.
