[origin: WO2010023214A1] The invention relates to a method for making a packaging (2) for transporting and/or storing nuclear material, said packaging including an inner ferrule (20), an outer ferrule, as well as heat conduction means (16), wherein said method includes: making a substantially circular envelope (22') having at least one longitudinal slot defined by two opposite longitudinal edges (42); welding the opposite longitudinal edges in order to form the outer ferrule, said step being carried out so that the weld shrinkage results in a compression strain of the heat conduction means in a radial direction, and so that each weld bead ensures only the attachment onto one another of the two edges connected by the same.
