Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2320432A1] The package (2) has a radiological protection device (20) including metallic radiological protection elements i.e. metallic radiological protection blocks (30, 32), that are supported against an outer shell (24) and an inner shell (22), respectively. The protection elements are provided in contact with one another along a plane interface (40) to take shape of a line segment defining an acute angle (A) with a radial line traversing the segment in its medium (M), in a cross-section along a plane orthogonal to a longitudinal axis and traversing the interface. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a radioactive material storing and/or transporting package.
