Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010017811A2] A dental spreading instrument (1, 1a), in particular dental forceps (1, 1a), for forcing neighbouring tooth structures (20, 26) apart when creating an approximal contact (21) in the fabrication of a posterior tooth restoration, wherein the spreading instrument (1) comprises a first region (9) and a second region (10), and wherein the first region (9) has one spreading pin (11a) and the second region (10) has two spreading pins (11b, 11c), and therefore neighbouring tooth structures (20, 26) can be forced apart by the spreading pins (11a, 11b, 11c) when the spreading instrument (1) is actuated, and wherein a correct relationship of approximal contact can be created.  A moulding (28) which is suitable for forming a region of approximal contact (21) in the case of a posterior tooth restoration, and which can be fastened or is fastened to the dental spreading instrument (1, 1a), is also disclosed.
