[origin: EP2322331A1] The slicer (1) has a blade (3) rotated in a cutting plane for separating round slices of a string-shaped cutting product e.g. string-shaped food such as sausage, and a back and forth movable slide (2) exhibiting a cutting product support (21). A chain frame (4) is provided with parallel rotating chains (41) to retain the separated slices. The parallel rotating chains in an area (A) of the chain frame exhibit smaller distance to each other than that in another area (B) of the chain frame. The former area is arranged near a lower end of the chain frame.
