[origin: EP2325360A1] The knitted material has a basic knitted fabric, which comprises a thread made of a material, which changes its electrical-resistance under the influence of moisture. A moisture sensor (5) is provided, which has two electrically conductive electrodes arranged at a distance from each other. The electrodes comprise an electrically conductive thread, which is enlaced with the basic knitted fabric and stays in electrical connection with the externally accessible electric connection units.
