Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010020419A2] The invention relates to a vertical lift door, especially a high-speed industrial door, comprising two guide tracks which are arranged on opposite sides of a door opening, and a lamellar armor structure (2) for covering the door opening in the closed position. The lamellar armor structure (2) comprises strap hinges (21) which have hinge members (22) that are articulated to each other and that can be bent in relation to each other via hinge pins (23). The strap hinges (21) have a length that corresponds to the internal height of the door opening, the strap hinges (21) being supported and guided in the guide tracks (31), and the lamellar armor structure (2) having lamellae (24, 24a) that are put onto the hinge members (22). The vertical lift door according to the invention is characterized in that lateral edge sections of two adjacent lamellae (24, 24a), which sections face each other, are designed to be complementary to each other in such a manner that they engage with each other when the vertical lift door (1) is closed, thereby producing a labyrinth seal. The improved vertical lift door is suitable for high-speed operation and at the same time has fire protection properties.
