[origin: WO2010034486A1] The invention relates to a fastening device for fastening an attachment element, particularly a door or wall paneling, to a support (64), particularly a body part of a motor vehicle. Said fastening device can take a defined preassembly position and a defined final assembly position. The fastening device comprises a connection part (10), which can be connected to the attachment element and which defines an axial assembly direction (A), and an engagement part (12) for locking the fastening device in or behind an opening of the support (64). The engagement part (12) or the connection part (10) has integrally formed function elements (52), which spatially define a final assembly position of the fastening device in interaction with the connection part (10) or with the engagement part (12). The function elements (52) are arranged in such a way that said function elements are located at least mostly behind the support (64) in the final assembly position.
