The invention relates to the drying device of a dishwasher (GS) having at least one sorption container (SB) comprising sorption material (ZEO) that can be reversibly dehydrated. The sorption container is connected to the rinsing container (SPB) of the dishwasher via at least one air guide channel (LK). At least one discharge device (AUS), which is connected to at least one discharge opening (AO) of the sorption container (SB), is disposed in the interior of the rinsing container (SPB) such that air (ALS) ejected by said discharge device is largely directed away from at least one spraying device (SA) disposed in the rinsing container (SPB).
