[origin: WO2010034702A1] The invention relates to a system for monitoring the gain drift of a photomultiplier (2), characterised in that the system includes: first means (4, 5, 6, 7, 8) for measuring a noise signal of the photomultiplier (2) and for delivering a measure signal (5s, 6s) representative of the noise signal of the photomultiplier (2); and second means (9, 3) for maintaining, from said measure signal (5s, 6s), the noise signal measured at a constant level. The invention can be used for stabilising the gain of photomultipliers, and more particularly for stabilising neutron measurement systems using photomultipliers.
