[origin: EP2329930A1] The apparatus has a cutting blade (111) that is pivotable for setting a cutting gap and/or for a vertical or dipping depth setting such that spacing between the cutting blade and a reference plane, which extends parallel to a cutting plane (S1) or which coincides with the cutting plane is changed. The cutting blade remains aligned parallel to the cutting plane or departs from a parallel alignment. The pivot movement of the cutting blade takes place around two pivot axes. An independent claim is also included for a method for slicing food products.
