Abstract (en)
The electrode (1) has an elongated base body (2) made from graphite, which is provided at a surface area with a coating (3). The coating includes an open porosity, which is formed at a direction of a longitudinal axis of the base body for permeable liquid i.e. water. The coating is formed by an elastic fibrous material that is glued with the surface area of the base body and wound around the base body. The coating is formed by paper and/or cardboard and/or non-woven fabric and/or fiber blanket and/or textile material. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing an electrode (2) an arc furnace including a furnace vessel (3) a method for operating an arc furnace.

Elektrode für einen Lichtbogenofen und Verfahren zu deren Herstellung Die Erfindung betrifft eine Elektrode für einen Lichtbogenofen, umfassend einen langgestreckten Grundkörper aus Graphit, welcher an seiner Oberfläche zumindest teilsweise mit einer Beschichtung versehen ist, wobei die Beschichtung eine offene Porosität aufweist, die zumindest in Richtung einer Längsachse des Grundkörpers für eine Flüssigkeit permeabel ausgebildet ist. Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin ein Verfahren zu deren Herstellung einer solchen Elektrode, einen Lichtbogenofen mit mindestens einer derartigen Elektrode sowie ein Verfahren zum Betreiben eines solchen Lichtbogenofens.
