Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010031695A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a printing machine, particularly a sheet-fed printing machine, namely for detecting and adjusting a base setting of ink zone control elements of the inking unit of a printing mechanism of the printing machine, having at least the following steps: a) a printing mechanism having a print-ready inking unit is provided, wherein all ink zone control elements of the print-ready inking unit are set to an identical, predefined base setting; b) at least one test print is printed; c) at least one test print is measured, namely in such a way that an ink density is measured in each ink zone of the test print in order to metrologically detect the base setting of the ink zone control element of each ink zone of the inking unit; d) the ink densities of all ink zones of the inking unit, which were detected metrologically on a test print, are compared to each other, wherein according thereto the base settings of the ink zone control elements of the inking unit are adjusted in such a way that an identical ink density results for each ink zone.
