[origin: WO2010034418A1] The invention relates to a ground covering made from moulded blocks (10, 40) made from concrete, in particular paving blocks or paving sheets, wherein the moulded blocks (10, 40) have a square shape with four corners (17, 18, 19, 20) between which four vertical lateral surfaces (13, 14, 15, 16) run and an upper side (11) and a lower side (12) and the moulded blocks (10, 40) are arranged adjacent to each other in rows (37, 38) and several adjacent rows (37, 38) form the ground covering (34) and the moulded blocks (10, 40) are arranged such that vertical joints (35, 36) are formed between lateral surfaces (13..16) of adjacent moulded blocks (10, 40) which may be filled with a joint filling material and the moulded blocks (10, 40) are arranged without offset with regard to each other to give a cross-shaped arrangement of the joints (35, 36) and the moulded blocks (10, 40) have toothing means, in particular spacers (21, 41, 45), on the vertical lateral surfaces (13..16) of the moulded blocks (10, 40) to achieve a connection between moulded blocks (10, 40) within the ground covering (34). According to the invention, the toothing means run in the region of the four corners (17...20) and each cross a corner (17..20), namely beginning on a lateral surface (13..16) running around the corner (17..20) into the region of an adjacent lateral surface (13..16), such that a toothing means of a moulded block (10, 40) engages with the toothing means of separate moulded block (10, 40) across a cross joint to give a horizontal connection.
