[origin: WO2006010649A1] The invention relates to an external door handle (1) for door locking and/or door operation for a chassis of a motor vehicle, comprising a handle housing (2), arranged in the chassis and a pull-handle (6), mounted in the handle housing (2) such as to pivot about a pivot axis (4) at one end of the handle housing (2), whereby the pull-handle (6) locks flush to the chassis of the vehicle or the handle housing (2) in the closed position and, in an outswung, operating position, extended from the chassis, opens the door lock and/or the door on manually pulling the door handle (6), whereby at least one unlocking button (10) is provided inside or outside the handle housing (2), by means of which the pull-handle (6) may be unlocked in the closed and rest position, whereupon the pull-handle (6) may be pivoted into the operating position in which the pull-handle (6) projects from the chassis for operation.
