[origin: EP2333441A1] There are provided a fan 20 placed in a casing 1, a humidifying filter 40 for humidifying air flow produced by the fan 20, a water tray 90 placed below the humidifying filter 40, a water sprinkling device 60 having a rotation frame on which the humidifying filter 40 is mounted and which is rotatably supported by the casing 1 and bucket parts 61 which are provided on the rotation frame and which are for drawing up water from the water tray 90 and sprinkling the water on the humidifying filter 40, a geared motor 74 for rotating the rotation frame of the water sprinkling device 60, and a control unit 200 for controlling the fan 20 and the geared motor 74. The control unit 200 carries out a humidification preparing operation for infiltrating the water into the humidifying filter 40, by controlling the geared motor 74 and thus controlling the rotation of the rotation frame 65 of the water sprinkling device 60, before carrying out a humidifying operation.
