[origin: WO2010040706A1] The invention relates to a device for orienting at least one security paper (12 to 18). The device has first and second transport elements (24 to 52, 224 to 252) for transporting the security paper (12 to 18) on a transport plane (10) of a transport section. At least one rotating transport element (38 to 52, 238 to 252) generates a driving force that is exerted on the security paper (12 to 18) obliquely to the central axis (10) lying on the transport plane (10). At least one second rotating transport element (24 to 36, 224 to 296) generates a driving force that is exerted on the security paper (12 to 18) parallel to the central axis (20). At least one first drive unit (304, 306, 313 to 322b) moves the first rotating transport element (38 to 52, 238 to 252) at least towards the transport plane (10). At least one second drive unit (304, 306, 313 to 322) moves the second rotating transport element (24 to 36) at least towards the transport plane (10). The device further comprises a contact unit (278a, 278b), which exerts a contact pressure on the security paper (12 to 18) in a contact position.
