[origin: WO2010034934A1] The invention relates to a navigation system for an automaton (1), said system including at least one movement detector (10, 11), and at least two inductive beacon sensors (12a) capable of detecting beacons (4) in the vicinity of the automaton, wherein the system further includes a controller (20) capable of storing the positions of the beacons (4), of moving the automaton, and of determining an estimated position of the automaton relative to the environment based on information received from the movement detector (10, 11). The controller is further suitable for updating the estimated position of the automaton (1) relative to the beacons (4) based on the signals received from the different beacon sensors (12a).
