Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010040815A1] The present invention relates to a method for disposing a metal electrode over a functional layer from which electrons can be extracted or into which electrons can be injected. For example, the functional layer can be a photoactive polymer layer for producing electronic components, in particular polymeric solar cells. One step in the method according to the invention provides for the application of a metal oxide layer from a fluid phase or from a nanoparticulate dispersion. Another step of the method according to the invention provides for the application of the metal electrode from a fluid phase, in particular a solution of metals bound inside of organic molecules, or from a nanoparticulate dispersion, in other words a dispersion comprising metal nanoparticles. In any case, the resultant metal oxide layer is disposed over the functional layer, whereas the metal electrode is disposed over the metal oxide layer. In another step of the method according to the invention, the metal electrode is converted thermally, chemically or photochemically to an amorphous, semi-crystalline or full-crystalline layer. Furthermore, the metal oxide layer is converted thermally, chemically or photochemically to an amorphous, semi-crystalline or full-crystalline layer.
