[origin: EP2335817A2] The mixer has a mixing element (4) arranged within a channel (1) and comprising dividing structures for dividing media stream conveyed through the channel into two substreams. The two substreams are combined and exhibit different average paths from one of the dividing structures to a point in the channel, where the average path lengths differ by approximately 10 percent. The mixing element comprises a base plate and is formed as single-piece in a plastic injection mold. The channel exhibits rectangular, square, round or circular cross-section. An independent claim is also included for a method for mixing a media stream.
