The gabion (10) has a receiving chamber (16) for a stone limited by lattice mats (12) and lattice walls (14), where the lattice mats are arranged parallel to each other. A floor reinforcing unit is formed as a post (20) arranged in the receiving chamber, and the post has a foundation needle (22) at a lower end of the post. The post comprises a rod as a distance piece to the lattice mats.
