[origin: WO2011054353A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for performing a PCR method, wherein the device comprises at least one sample cell (5) having a cavity (8) for accommodating a sample and at least one first (2a), one second (2b), and one third (2c) temperature-control unit that can be controlled independently of each other. The three temperature-control units (2a, 2b, 2c) define three temperature zones that are physically separate from each other. At least one means (3, 4) for performing a rotational motion of the sample cell (5) is provided. As a result of the rotational motion of the sample cell (5), the cavity (8) intended to accommodate the sample can be moved through the three temperature zones that are physically separate from each other, wherein the cavity is in contact with at least two temperature zones in at least one position of the sample cell (5).
