Abstract (en)

A distance from a user to a display apparatus (1) is detected (steps S106 and S108). Based on the detected distance, an application, an input device, an icon state, a character size, a volume level and a luminance level are selected (steps S 112 to S 117). Audio to be output is set to the selected volume (step S 118), and an application that may be operated by using the selected input device is displayed on a display (step S 119). Based on the selected icon state, an icon is displayed on the display or no icon is displayed (step S 119). Based on the selected luminance level and character size, luminance of the display and the size of a character displayed on the display are adjusted (step S 119).
