Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010049602A1] A riser for drilling an offshore well comprises a main tube that extends the well as far as a floating support, an auxiliary pipe being arranged parallel to the main tube (4a, 4b). The auxiliary pipe comprising tubular sections (7a, 7b) made of steel and assembled end to end with a sliding socket connection via a tubular end fitting (25). According to the invention, a material, for example a titanium alloy, that has an elastic limit at least 25% higher than that of the steel of the tubular sections (7a, 7b) is chosen from which to produce said end fitting (25), and the end fitting and the end of said sections are dimensioned to take account of the elastic limit of said material in order to reduce the sealing section of the end fitting.
