[origin: WO2010049878A1] The invention relates to a kiln for carbon blocks, particularly for baking anode blocks intended for the electrolytic production of aluminium, said kiln comprising at least one region made from a sintered refractory material made up of a granulate bonded by a matrix, said material comprising a SiAlON phase with the formula SixAlyOuNv forming at least part of the matrix, where: - x is greater than or equal to 0.01 and less than or equal to 1; - y is greater than or equal to 0 and less than or equal to 1; - u is greater than or equal to 0 and less than or equal to 1; - and v is greater than 0 and less than or equal to 1.
