An illumination apparatus (10) includes a cover (11), a light emitting element module (12), and a power supply module (13). The light emitting element module (12) is arranged inside the cover (11). The power supply module (13) is electrically connected to the light emitting element module (12) thereby providing electric power to the light emitting element module (12). The power supply module (13) is arranged at the exterior of the cover (11) and thermally insulated from the cover (11) and the light emitting element module (12).
