[origin: WO2010052166A1] The invention relates to a textile protective tube for a lifting means, such as a round sling (1), a lifting sling, or the like, which comprises a base fabric (4) and at least one rib (5) that is supported by the base fabric (4), protrudes outward relative the base fabric (4), and is formed by a rib fiber (H1, H2) that is woven with the base fabric (4), wherein optimized cutting protection is achieved along with good usage properties and simple, low cost manufacturability according to the invention as a result of the rib fiber (H1, H2) being a high-performance fiber and, viewed in the longitudinal direction (L) of the rib fiber (H1, H2), the rib fiber (H1, H2) having jumped over at least three weft threads (6,6a-6l) of the base fabric (4) in each case before the rib fiber is pulled under a weft thread (6) of the base fabric.
