Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2343328A1] The method for passivating a metal surface of a device for the production or processing of polycarbonate, comprises treating the metal surface with a polycarbonate-melt containing phosphorus compounds to part in the area that is in contact with reagents. The passivation is carried out with the polycarbonate-melt at 280-480[deg] C for 1-24 hours. The concentration of the phosphorus compounds in the polycarbonate-melt is 0.1 g of phosphate per m 2>metal surface to 5000 g per m 2>metal surface. The phosphorus compounds are phosphoric acid or phosphoric acid derivatives. The method for passivating a metal surface of a device for the production or processing of polycarbonate, comprises treating the metal surface with a polycarbonate-melt containing phosphorus compounds to part in the area that is in contact with reagents. The phosphorus compounds are phosphoric acid or phosphoric acid derivatives or organic phosphate compounds. The phosphorus compound is a phosphite or phosphate. The passivation is carried out in the presence of oxygen-containing gas or under inert gas. The metal surface is thermally pre-treated before the treatment with the polycarbonate-melt in oxidative atmosphere. Independent claims are included for: (1) a device for the production or for processing of polycarbonate; and (2) a method for the production of polycarbonate.
