[origin: EP2346050A2] The tension-resistant electrical conductor has a primary inner wire layer and a secondary outer wire layer that are arranged over a central core wire (2). The central core wire is made of copper or a copper alloy. The primary inner wire layer comprises an alternating sequence of copper wires that have higher tensile strength in a circumferential direction and arranged over the central core wire. The secondary outer wire layer is composed exclusively of copper wires (3).
