[origin: GB2464140A] A trommel 3 separator has a discharge chute 5, for a portion of material separated in the trommel 3, raised to a level above the axis of rotation of the trommel 3. This may aid in the discharging of materials into a wide variety of apparatus. The apparatus has a low level input grille 2, and can separate two or three different types of material, usually gravel, sand and liquids. Also disclosed is a corresponding method of normal usage of the apparatus.
