[origin: WO2010049446A1] Disclosed is a method for filling the screen (2) of a mobile terminal (1) with a background image that is at least temporarily stored in a memory of the terminal (1). There is a selection mode in which several background images are represented on the screen (2) as thumbnail-sized patterns (6) and can be selected. The screen (2) presented to the user in the selection mode has a first optically separated screen zone, the "selection zone" (4). The user can select from a number of patterns (6) represented in the selection zone (4), said selection directly resulting in the entire background of the screen being filled with the respective background image.
