[origin: WO2010043501A1] According to the invention improvements may be made to a plug connector, comprising an electrically-insulating plug connector housing, made up of several housing parts, at least one contact element arranged in a retainer space within the plug connector housing, accessible by means of a plug opening for a contact element of a complementary plug connector and an electric cable entering the plug connector housing through a cable opening, the electrical conductor of which is connected to the contact element, such that the plug connector housing may be embodied as small as possible with as large a leak current run as possible, whereby the joints between the housing parts defining the retainer space are sealed by a material connection and thus the leakage current paths coming from the contact element in the retainer space run only to the plug opening and7or the cable opening.
