Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2010060924A1] The laser applicator comprises an optical fiber with a core surrounded by a jacket. The jacket contains openings (40) for coupling radiative energy outward. To accomplish an even distribution of energy, the size of the opening must increase from the proximal end to the distal end. According to the invention, the openings (40) are combined into groups (45), wherein the number of openings within a group varies. The openings (40) are of a uniform size so that the area of out-coupling (13) can be produced in a simple manner.
