Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2353408A2] The spool (10) has a rotatable drum body (12) including a retaining cavity (14) for transporting rod-shaped articles e.g. cigarettes (16), tobacco sticks and/or filter rods, of a tobacco processing industry. The body is formed with radial suction air holes (18) by a pressure source (30) based on the cavity. A control flange (20) is surrounded by the body and sectionally-formed in a circumferential direction. An airflow cross section is narrowed in a region between inner ends of the holes of the body by an inner end of the flange by pressure.
